What Happens Before, During, and After Your Service
Before
Once you're on the schedule, you'll get a confirmation and a reminder the day before. If we're treating indoors, we'll send prep instructions: vacuum carpets and upholstery, wash pet bedding on high heat, clear items away from baseboards. For yard treatment, mow the lawn beforehand if possible, shorter grass means better product contact in tick habitat. This isn't busywork, it makes treatment more effective.
During
If we're treating indoor areas, you'll need to be home. The visit starts with an assessment of where fleas and ticks are active, then treatment of those areas. Figure 30–60 minutes depending on the size of your home and yard. Want to know what's being found as things progress? Just ask.
After
Keep pets and kids off treated areas for about 30 minutes while things dry. Hold off on vacuuming treated carpets for at least a week, the product continues working on fleas as they emerge. Some activity in the first few days is normal and tapers off as the residual treatment breaks the cycle. If you're still seeing significant activity after two weeks, give us a call.

How do I know if I have fleas?
Look for small, dark, fast-moving insects in your pet's fur or bouncing across light-colored surfaces. Flea dirt, tiny black specks that turn reddish-brown when wet, on pet bedding or carpet is usually easier to spot than the fleas themselves. Bites on humans usually show up around ankles and lower legs in clusters.
Is the treatment safe for my pets?
Yes. Products are selected to be effective on fleas and ticks while being safe for dogs and cats once dry. Keep pets off treated areas for about 30 minutes, then they're clear.
Do I need to treat both indoors and outdoors?
If fleas have made it inside, yes. Treating only the yard leaves the indoor population to keep breeding. If you're only finding ticks outside and haven't seen fleas indoors, yard treatment alone may be enough, that's something we can figure out during the assessment.
Will fleas and ticks come back?

How do I know if I have ticks?
You'll usually find them already attached, on yourself, your kids, or your pets, after time in the yard or wooded areas. Ticks don't jump or fly; they climb onto hosts from grass and vegetation. If you're regularly finding them after being outside, your yard has a population that needs addressing.
Will this get rid of the fleas inside my house?
Yes. Treatment kills adult fleas on contact, and the residual product continues working as eggs hatch over the following days. Activity tapers off over one to two weeks as the cycle breaks.
How long until I stop seeing fleas?
Most people notice a major drop within a few days. Full resolution typically takes one to two weeks as remaining eggs hatch and contact the residual treatment. If significant activity continues past two weeks, call us.
Can fleas spread to other rooms?
